The group exhibition of contemporary photography Photography Week is a consciously parasitic organism that attaches itself to an already existing body (of interest), drawing attention from it while simultaneously infusing it with new vitality. Positioned at the margins—or rather, beyond the margins—of the official programme of Month of Photography, the project shifts its focus away from presenting coherent individual artistic statements towards the experimental end of the creative spectrum: the intersection of processes, trials, errors, unfinished gestures, and possibilities unfolding in the space between the image and its potentiality. The exhibition is not a static display but an open field of interactions between artists, materials, and the architecture of the site. Photography unfolds here as a continuous act of translation between presence and trace, between the physical and the digital, between what can be grasped and what remains elusive. Within the gallery space, the image becomes an object that responds to the context of the site's former functions, raising a fundamental question: Where does the image take place today, in the present moment? Does it still reside on the surface of the photographic medium, or has it become a network of relationships, discourses, algorithms, and movements? Rather than establishing a hierarchy of artists or an aesthetic order, the exhibition creates a reflexive environment in which individual works continuously transform, absorb, complement, or negate one another. In this sense, the exhibition constitutes a performative act—an environment that exists as a living entity only for the duration of its unfolding. Its parasitic nature becomes a strategy of survival within a system saturated with images. Rather than proposing an alternative, it poses a question: How can we continue to create and think about photography within an environment that already functions as a perpetual exhibition?
